Heat (like from the sun) causes damage with blistering that
is visible on the stored spa. If the hot tub has no water in
it, the damages can be made worse. The spa should be filled
with water when doing the inspection so that it runs for
twenty-four hours with the maximum setting temperature. Leaks
and problems with the system can usually be spotted then.
Purchase a spa by looking in your local newspaper classified
section. Many people are moving and need to sell their
equipment. Auction sites online usually are not a good place to
look because any shipping costs would be impractical and you
would be buying the hot tub without seeing or inspecting
it.
You can decide how much to spend by factoring in the spa
style design, any extra features and age of a spa as well as
the general condition. Used hot tubs may be purchased from a
dealer with a warranty because the spa was purchased using
financing and the person was unable to continue making
payments.
