Your Questions About Inflatable Hot Tubs

Donald asks…

does anyone have an inflatable tub for their baby?

My son hates the bath tub and we used to have a little sponge thing that he could lay on but he's outgrown it. I need to bathe him at SOME point so I was wondering if anyone had any of the inflatable tubs they sell -- like this:
http://www.amazon.com/Munchkin-White-Hot-Inflatable-Duck/dp/B000066665/ref=pd_cp_ba_2

or something like this:
http://www.amazon.com/Kel-Gar-KEL-52840-Snug-Tub/dp/B000056JB8/ref=pd_cp_ba_2_img

what kind do you have and how do you like it? my son is 9 months old and mediumish height and weight and build, I just want to get him a little tub his size that he can sit up in and move freely in so that he's not scared. thanks for your help!
trips mom -- I've tried the real tub! he never had an infant tub, he just had one of those sponges but then when he was able to sit up at 5 months he was terrified for some reason. he HATES it. obviously I've tried the real tub, I've tried it every other day for 3 and a half months.

The Sage answers:

We tried a Winnie the Pooh inflatable tub for awhile when my daughter went through a 'scared of the tub' phase. Unfortunately, she was afraid of that tub, too, and would only stand beside it to splash the water and throw toys in.

I resorted to giving her a bath in the kitchen sink for several months. For hair washing, I would lay her on the counter with a thick towel under her neck and do her hair in the sink as well.

You might also consider if you think your son would take to this:

These are smaller than the inflatable tub and drip dry really well.

Daniel asks…

Ice bath in a non heated hot tub?

Is it possible to make an ice bath in a hot tub? (not while the heater is on of course...) Me and my friends want to get in together because we did that during track season. How would I be able to create it?? Would we be better off just getting a cheap inflatable pool?
where would i buy a really cheap inflatable pool?

The Sage answers:

Well, if the heater is off, just throw a ton of ice in it. Go to the store and buy a bunch of ice, dump it in until the temperature's about 50 degrees Farenheit or lower. A hot tub is huge though, so it would take A TON of ice. But of course, if you're all trying to get in at once, you'll need something big--like a hot tub. So either buy alot of ice, or buy an inflatable pool and a lot of ice. The choice is yours.

Steven asks…

I have an inflatable hot tub that can't go higher than 104 degrees...I non-chloride chemicals in it...Would it be ok to put her in there with me?

The Sage answers:

I don't think its safe for babies to go in hot tubs, not just due to the heat, but more for risk of drowning. I wouldn't.

Carol asks…

Sharon asks…

will i be able to get an inflatable hot tub for £ 150 - 200?

The Sage answers:

If you buy during the off-season (fall-winter) 200£ (315.00 USD) is a definite possibility, though 220£ (345.00 USD) is probably more realistic if quality matters.

There are not a lot of added expenses for an inflatable hot tub since most of them use a standard 110 Volt outlet and can be cleaned gently with warm soapy water.

Most inflatable spas come with a heater, pump, and hot tub cover so there aren't major additional expenditures. The minor expenditures would be for electricity and hot tub chemicals.

Linda asks…

I saw an ad on CNN, for a hot tub that plugs into a normal outlet. It wasn't inflatable or squishy. The?

It might not have been on CNN. It was in TV during the day on May 2.
Does anyone know what the product is called?
Hi Truth. I am a know-it-all too so I understand what compeled you to post your non-answer.

The Sage answers:

First thought is; If it plugs into a normal 110 outlet it will take a long time to heat. It may trip the breaker on that circuit if it doesn;t get the cord hot and start a fire. You have to be carefull of anything they advertise on tv

What is the cheapest brand of INFLATABLE hot tubs. INFLATABLE ONLY!! Please?

rumors have it theres a $400 one but i cant find it anywhere..its not the one for 250 on ebay that one is a scam.

The Sage answers:

Spa2Go is $799 - you can get free shipping. This is the cheapest I could find.

Laura asks…

How much does it cost on average to run an inflatable hot tub?

It's sized for 2 - 4 people.

The Sage answers:

It also will depend on were you live.
Here is a topic I found that was simular to yours.

Question: Are there any estimates on monthly electric charges for the Spa2Go?

Answer: In regards to your questions for the spa the electric charges I cannot tell you exactly because electricity is charged differently everywhere. What I can tell you is that it uses as much electricity as a 75 watt light bulb if you were to leave the electricity on all day and night. You can check your electric bill and see how much they charge you per watt and find out cost from there or call your electric company and they will give you a cost.

Here is some web sites to look at .

That concludes our item display for now. We hope you enjoyed browsing but please revisit us again soon when you should find other inflatable hot tubs and spas that have passed our review panel and made the grade. Make sure you check out are video below to actually see inflatable hot tubs in action.

It's great to know that you can make this the focal point of a beautiful garden or tuck it away in secret due to its portability. This video explains exactly how you should set up the inflatable system although it does obviously recommend that you should follow the manual that comes with it. Firtsly you should find a flat surface free from any debris, do not use a knife or sharp object to open the box. Check all the items are in the box, check the RCD plug for safety. Lock the adaptors in place and screw into position, open the air valve under the control panel, press the inflate panel, never over inflate. Press bubble again to stop inflating and remove pump. Fill with water from hose and then use temperature button to heat up. The filtration system will automatically begin. The bubble massage will automatically go for 30 minutes. They also recommend cleaning the filter every 2 weeks and show you how to do it. Change the filter every 2 months. the perfect, cheap and easy method to enjoy that spa sensation.
