Freaking out about overheating and baby’s healthy! Please help me out.?
Well, I know you aren’t supposed to get in hot tubs when you’re pregnant so I haven’t been in one since I found out. But sometimes while we’re at the gym my fiance gets in and I put my feet in to relax. I thought I was safe but I read that overheating can harm the baby. I didn’t get in but I felt very hot, my heartbeat was elevated and I began sweating. When I started getting a little too uncomfortable I got out and left the room, but I know I still overheated. I have done this maybe 2 or 3 times and I’m scared. Also, it is very hot here, I’m in Houston, and one day I went on a walk with my boyfriend. I didn’t want to go. It was like 100 degrees and I wasn’t feeling good. But I went anyway and I was miserable and I got so hot I felt like I was gonna pass out and I couldn’t get out of the heat fast enough. Also, my mom’s tire exploded one night. The next day we had to change it and I joined them (don’t know why), and got so hot, we were in the sun for like 2-3 hours and it was about 100 degrees. And lastly, we went to the beach one day and were out in the hot sun for 6 hours! I got so sunburned, and I’m a bit dark-complected and I have never been sunburned before. But that day I got very sunburned and I overheated.
So there it is. I have overheated more times than any expecting mom should and I am terrified for my baby. I am almost 13 weeks along and everything seems to be going fine, but I am so so scared I have harmed my baby. They say overheating can cause mental health damage to the baby. Poor baby has been cooking in there and I didn’t even know I could be severely damaging her. Please help me. Does anyone know anyone who’s done this and went on to have a perfectly healthy baby? I have been careful since our trip to the beach and such, but it’s so hot here and I’m prone to overheating anyway.
I’m just so scared I’ve been crying and crying…what if I harmed my baby? I’m 12 weeks 6 days.

Usedhottubsstore answers:
Most likely you are perfectly fine. I have done some similar things while I was pregnant and my son is 22 months and advanced. I would stick my feet in the hot tub as well but when I would get too hot or dizzy I would take them out to cool and place them back in. I got crazy sunburnt 2 times while pregnant. First time my belly was all red and I was 6 months pregnant. Second time I was 7 months pregnant and at the beach, my belly got a little sunburnt but nothing too bad. My son is perfectly healthy. I also would visit my mom in 100+ degree weather. You should be perfectly fine, just drink lots of water when you expect to be outside for long periods of time and exposed to sun, wear sun block and take breaks if you get winded. Dont be a vampire and stay inside forever. You need to get out and get some sun and fresh air, even if that air is 100 degrees! Just drink lots of water. You are probably fine and dandy! You dont sound like you dehydrated or anything and you didnt submerge your belly into the hot tub. Good luck, dont freak out too much, I know its hard cuz it sounds as though its your first. Enjoy your pregnancy!

LGBT: How do you move forward with a platonic relationship with one of the people attempts to make more of it?
How does a friendship survive in it’s platonic structure, when one of the friends violates the platonic aspect of the friendship?
Ok, here’s the deal: (it’s long)
I went
out of town on a business trip last week. I went to Austin (which is where I lived for the
majority of my life). Since I was all alone, I called my friend that lives there – my best
friend, for all intents and purposes. She came over and we went to dinner. We returned to
the hotel I was staying in, and had some drinks. We then decided to go down and check out
the pool and hot tub.
While sitting cooking in the
hot tub, she began to come onto me. I had had several drinks and
was very close to being drunk. I knew she was probably a bit drunk, too. She started
touching me in a very inappropriate way, and saying things like “she had always
wanted to get with me” and “you’ve never had sex with a woman, let’s try it, i know
you’ll like it” and things like that.
I was so uncomfortable. I didn’t want to upset or hurt her,
so I just jokingly said that I would have to be a hell of a lot more drunk than I was for
this to happen. She laughed and moved away, but still keep being very…uncool.
We went back to the room and we talked for a while before I
told her I needed sleep for my seminars in the morning. So, she
left.
I returned home Friday afternoon. The thing is, this friend and another friend of ours was coming to Houston for a weekend visit. The two of them arrived and all four of us (my partner included) spent the weekend playing cards, going to dinner, the Renaissance Festival, etc… Nothing else really came of what had occurred last week, and I made it a point to keep a sober mind this past weekend. But, I could not stop feeling as if things had changed. Like the dynamic seemed the same, to a degree, but there was this unsaid issue.
Now, as I sit here, I keep running through my mind how I don’t want to be friends with her anymore. We had been friends for about 25 yrs. This was the first time this sort of thing had happened to ME – she has done this with others.
My question is how should I deal from here on out? Should I simply chalk it up to a drunken mistake or something else? I had always suspected that my best f@ghag was into me – but wasn’t sure – until now.
What is your advice?

Usedhottubsstore answers:
I’d let it go but I’d also keep my distance. You are in two different cities and that will keep her off you. I’d be creeped out too but once that wore off I’d be like “Dayum Reef, you still got it!” and hold onto that, not the negative stuff.
Can I build my own in-ground hot tub?
My husband is a pretty handy guy and we have a very tight budget. He doesn’t like the above ground portable hot tubs, and I’m wondering if it would be possible for us to build our own in-ground hot tub? I live in Houston, TX, where the ground moves quite a bit. Gunite pools are popular here. Would this be a manageable thing for us? Any tips/suggestions? Any idea on the cost?

Usedhottubsstore answers:
Wow, you have great faith in husband! You’ll need: the tub or water holding vessel, the pump, the heater, the filter, the timer, perhaps an ozonator to help with the cleaning and any jets you want to install. Why not just get in inground spa?

Explain the difference to me in a 2 person whirlpool bath and 2 person hot tub?
I am looking for a hotel in the Houston area for my husband and I to get away for a night. I am wanting a room that has a 2 person “tub” in the room. One reasonable hotel has a couple of rooms that I am confused about. One says a 2 person whirlpool-in bath and the other says it has a 2 person hot tub. Is it meaning that the whirlpool bath is in the bath room and the hot tub is in the room? I am thinking that is what it is meaning. Someone please help me with this.
Also, if you know of a reasonably price (less that $130) that has a nice in-room hot tub in north Houston or Humble, let me know!
Last thing, if you know of anything we could see while we’re in Houston, let me know that too! We get tired of shopping!
Thanks to all who reply!!!

Usedhottubsstore answers:
I think that technically, a “whirlpool bath” is a bathtub with jets that you would have in your bathroom and fill with the faucet like a normal bathtub(you can just turn on the jets with a button). A “hot tub” is what you typically see outside next to the pool or inside a spa. However, I think that most people use these terms interchangeably. SO, if a hotel room mentions a “whirl pool” or “hot tub” in the room…they typically mean “whirl pool” and it will be in the bathroom.
However, it would be cool to have a hot tub by the bed! I bet there are some places
like that in Vegas! ![]()
Enjoy your trip to Houston. The arboretum there is nice…plus they have a great ballet and the Alley Theater is wonderful.
Hope this helps(and was clear!). Happy Travels.

Ken asks…
What are the operating expenses of inground pools?
I am considering purchasing a new home with a 20′ x 40′ inground pool, the pool has 6-man hot tub that overflows into it. Both are heated. The home is in the Houston, TX area. It is gunite, 9′ deep, and not salt water. How much do you think the chlorine would cost on a monthly basis? What would you think the monthly heating cost would be? It is computer-controlled, so how much could I save by only running the heater at certain times? In the Houston area, how much of the year is the heater on the pool even needed? Would it be possible to convert to a salt water system?

Usedhottubsstore answers:
If you do your own maintenance, cost of chemicals isnt much. A bigger expense is bringing in somebody to do your sweeping, skimming, ph balance, and filter care.
IF you swim 365 days a year, you will need some heater time. Depends on how you like your water, and whether you do the hottub year round.
Install a solar system for your pool water. It’ll save a lot of $$’s. Just heat the spa. It may heat the pool well enough, except for the coldest months. Turn on your heater half the time, you save half the expense of heating the pool.
You could go saltwater, but why would yo uwant to. It takes a lot more time and expense to keep clean, and judging from my friends saltwater fish tank, a lot more equipment.
Does anyone know of any hotels in the Houston area that have in room hot tubs?
Possibly in the South East region of Houston near Deer
Park, Pasedena etc. or somewhere near Houston Hobby
airport would be good.
When i say hot tubs, i mean
hot tub/jacuzzi or just somewhere that has a larger bath
tub that could maybe fit two people

Graeme answers:
Sure, I know plenty… And all of them are on the South East part or town.
The Cullen Inn, Tweedies, The Crystal Inn, The Palace Inn. And they even charge by the hour.
Around hobby airport there will be PLENTY of by the hour rooms, and they almost ALL have a Jacuzzi room.
The problem is that rooms with Jacuzzi’s are almost exclusively at hotel that specialze in sex. Thats not to say they are ratty, or dirty, some of them are nice, clean, well light, and in safe areas but I doubt you’ll be able to find them on “Hotels.com” or something like that. I also doubt that you’ll want to stay there for an extented period considering most of them are in areas that offer no options for tourist.
My recommendation…
Get the Jacuzzi room for one night, it shouldn’t be more than $70 bucks a night, and the rest of the time find a hotel next to the attraction you’d like to see.
P.S. Most hotel with Jacuzzi room offer free “nasty” movies on there T.V. So you and the Misses enjoy!

I am looking for a hotel in houston that has an in room hot tub. Most sites won’t give out the information.?
What is the trick to search for the hidden tubs?

Graeme answers:
Tony, if you have LOTS of money try the Magnificent
Seven Suites at Hotel ZaZa in Houston.
They have whirlpool tubs – in addition to every imaginable luxury.

I do know the Crowne Plaza (12801 Northwest Fwy,) has an outdoor hot
tub.
And the Magnolia Hotel (downtown) has the city’s only rooftop pool and jaccuzi
(great views) – that would be ‘special’
