Hot Tub
Relaxation
Fortunately today, it's a well known medical fact
that water, particularly warm water, has medicinal
properties. Many people use the spa or hot tub to ease
their discomfort or ailments.
Even though the Romans used baths as a
recreational meeting place for the upper classes and were
probably well aware of certain healing properties the warm
water contained, it was'nt until relatively recently that
the medical authorities gave it their seal of
approval.
Most of us enjoy easing back into the bath but few
of us know why. The answer is that initially, the heart will
pump faster to try to regain the original temperature but
subsequetly the blood vessels will dilate allowing the blood
to flow smoothly, hence the relaxation
feeling.
The jets in a hot tub or spa
act like a
massage, and because the warm water has already had the
desired unwinding effect, the massage has a quick effect,
pummeling the body but in a gentle
movement.
Thanks to the acknowledgement of the
medical profession, hot tubs are no longer an accessory
purely for the rich and famous. The change in economic
conditions over the last fifty years has enabled free
competition from manufacturers and suppliers all over the
world feeding a frenzied demand and so bringing the prices
right down. The other factor is the choice available. It
would still cost a fortune to have one custom made with all
the trimmings of course and some people do. For example,
built in tv and radio/ipod docking station with surround
sound speakers plus a mini bar with
an elegant
gazeboto seat ten people. However you
could buy used hot tubs or even add the jets into
your existing bath for a fraction of the cost. That's the
great advantage of a free market
economy.
Even if you lack the space or are worried
about moving, suppliers have tried to think of everything. A
corner spa, a hot tub for 2, a portable spa or hot tub that
simply inflates. Nowadays everyone can get involved which in
the long run should save our hospitals considerable time and
resources. Why? It's a known fact that one of the biggest
causes of illness is stress. It's impossible to accurately
confirm the percentage but common sense tells us that heart
attacks and strokes might be greatly reduced if
people just relaxed
more.
Frustration, in what has become
generally a hectic
lifestyle for most, builds up in all of us. Releasing that
negative energy is the key. I am convinced there would be
less divorces and less fighting in general if more people
would use a hot tub or spa.
Food for thought but hopefully you agree that used
hot tubs, spas and jacuzzis could make the world a better
place.
