my coleman hot tub is reading sns what does that mean?

The Sage answers:

It means a sensor is out, probly the temp

Mandy asks…

I have a Coleman Spa Hot Tub. The screen is blinking OH and nothing will work. How do i make it work?

The Sage answers:

The other is correct that it doesn mean Overheating is occuring. Most likely it is a faulty temp sensor. We would first replace it and then if it still does not go away you have to replace your circuit board. Easy fix!

Thomas asks…

Hot tub kicking breaker?

replaced heating element on coleman hot tub because it kept tripping breaker , replaced myself , everything works fine now except when jet 1 is put on high gfi trips , resets immediately and wil run and heat on low jets and high jet on2 ,but not on high on jet 1 , there was a switch with 2 wires on top of heater is it possible to have wires backward and would this affect just one jet
hot tub has worked fine for 4 years until heating element failed , did replace breaker before heater to see if that was problem (cheaper than heater ) it would kick immediately when heater was bad , now it runs fine until you hit high jet , and it will reset immediately so do not think it is moisture issue , is it possible high pressure switch hooked back up wrong.

The Sage answers:

I'm not familiar with your hot tub, but there are three possibilities.

First, there is a problem with your hot tub. I can't help you with that. Contact the manufacturer or a hot tub repair technician.

The second possibility is that the power source is inadequate for the load the hot tub places on that circuit. If this is the case, wire a new, dedicated line of the correct capacity for your model hot tub.

Finally, if the circuit breaker (I assume your refer to the one in your electrical service panel) is old, it could be weak. Replace it with the same type and amperage rating. DO NOT replace the breaker with a higher amperage one. If you do, you'd better keep a cell phone handy so you can call the fire department. The wiring is capable of handling only as much current as what the breaker is rated for. Putting in a higher capacity breaker can overload your wiring and start a fire.

Coleman Spa 448 questions?

I have a Coleman spa 448 Galaxy. I tried to google it and it seems as if this spa doesn't exist. So if anyone out there has any experience with this spa and answer would really appreciated. I need to know how many gallons of water this hot tub holds and how much it weighs.

The Sage answers:

Try this

How do I find the leak in my Coleman Hot Tub?

It only leaks when the pumps are on. What side panels should I take off so I can start finding the leak?

The Sage answers:

You can get a leak detecting fluid from a pool dealership.

Ruth asks…

Is it difficult to change the jets in a Coleman hot tub

I am about to purchase a used hot tub and was told that the jets aren’t very strong. Is it difficult to change on your own and/or expensive? I have someone who lives with me who is a “handyman” and just built a huge deck onto the back of my house. He knows a little about everything including electronics and mechanical…. I am thinking he could figure it out, but wanted to make sure it was worth it for the deal that I am getting….or should I spend more on one that works well?
Thanks

The Sage answers:

Wired is correct in that it is not the jets for the most part. By the way if you turn the outside ring of the jet counter clockwise it will eventually click and then you can pull it straight out.

Now for more power(better flow rate), look at the spa’s main pump and or secondary pump and replace it with one with more hp and flow rate. Knowing their tubs I would replaced it with a 56 frame Executive (Waterway) 5hp 2 speed pump for pump #1. It’s very easily done. Just make sure you get the proper sized Wet end for 1.5″ or 2″ pipes.

Sharon asks…

how can I repair my coleman hot tub when “Low Flow” is being displayed on the Temperature screen?

the flow valve switch has been replaced and there are no blockages

John asks…

how do you turn on a coleman hot tub?

so i’m with a friend and we are dogsitting for the weekend for another friend, and she has a hot tub that we both would REALLY like to use lol the problem is, is that we have NO idea how to turn it on! call us stupid, but we have looked all over the place for a switch or anything that would get it to turn on, as we have pushed some buttons in hopes of it working, but we havent found a power switch. so please, if you know anything about coleman jacuzzis and know how to turn it on, please respond!! =) thanks!

The Sage answers:

Don’t know about Coleman Jacuzzis, but if this is a full size hot tub that’s usually outside, then it should be connected to a circuit breaker, probably one close to the hot tub and it should also be connected to the main circuit breaker (Would only need to access these if the control panel on the hot tub is not working. If they are working, then you just need to push the “jets” or “air” buttons or even just turn up the temp knob.

Steven asks…

How do I unlock the control panel on a Coleman Horizon Series Hot Tub.?

I have tried several combinations of button pushing that I have found online. I have even shut down the power for a while, but when I turn it back on the control panel is still locked.

The Sage answers:

Be very careful. You can be electrocuted. If it has a disconnect switch on it, turn off the power (main breaker in the house) AND move the disconnect switch to the OFF position. There is probably a defeater mechanism just inside the door of the disconnect (you’ll be able to open it about half an inch and use your finger inside to depress the mechanism – it’s like the hood latch on an automobile).
