Gain access to the lamp via an outside panel. Remove the panel and twist the socket CCW to remove the bulb. Do not access the bulb from inside the tub. You'll breach the water seal and have bigger problems.

I want to buy a hot tub for my arthritis and exercise (water resistance) but am not sure which one to buy?

I have signed a contract to purchase a Catalina swim spa for $21,000.00 but am not sure I want it now. It's 8x 15 x 5 ft tall. I have no place to put it and am not sure I can or even want to crawl in and out of something 5 ft tall every day. I want a hot tub or something similar for my arthritis and water resistance exercise. I live in OKC and am 55 yrs. old. Any suggestions on the brand hot tub, swim spa or other?

I do not recommend Catalina Spas. The reason is their warranty is awful. One year for labor, Then this crazy 7 year prorated warranty kicks in that covers most everything for 3 years then you get hit for 50%. So your 5hp pumps are going to cost you 300 bucks a piece. Whew! Swimming is great for arth. And warm water. Perhaps look at a Coast Spa Wellness model spa. It's not a swim spa. For swim spas perhaps a Cal Spa with a combo hot tub. Be sure to look at the warranty on all of them. No prorated crap, since there's no reason to make the dealer richer. A decent cheap swim spa I have worked on was ALPS. Good components, Balboa waterway pumps. Bad warranty but the price makes up for it.

By the way...get yur Doctor to write a scrip for it! Tax dedut. Then!!!

Getting a hot tub?

I'm currently looking round at hot tubs and have decided on either Catalina, SpaForm, Rock Pool or LA Spas. I have decided to look at the lower end of the market as I used to have a Marquis Reward with all the bells and whistles on, but didn't really use all of the features so I don't see the point of spending nearly 10K again. I need to wet test them, but has anyone had any experiences good, or bad, with any of the four tubs I've mentioned?

Hot Tub Pump only stays on for 10 seconds at a time, then stops for 2 minutes before repeating.?

I just replaced my pump (Waterway Executive 4hp pump) on my Catalina Spa and fired it up. For some reason, the pump turns on for 10 seconds and the jets flow, but then it shuts off immediately. It remains idle for 2 minutes and then turns on again for 10 seconds. This cycle has been repeating endlessly as far as I can tell since installing the pump a couple days ago. Also, there are no error messages on the spa's readout display, only shows the temperature like normal. Any ideas?

I hate to tell you this but your circuit board needs to be replaced. The good thing is if your the original owner you do get that horrible pro-rated warranty where you actually get to pay for a portion or majority of the component. (I hate their warranties) If your out of warranty I do urge you to look at replacing it with a nice cheaper generic Balboa VS spa pack. Most of the time I replace your whole spa pack, heater and top side control for the rice they want for their circuit board.
